The first question many people ask in affiliate marketing is – “do you need to know how to design a website?” Well, the answer is tough. No, you don’t, really. But, it can be helpful, and you’ll go a lot further.

If you want your own website and domain, you’ll need to do a few things. First, is to find yourself a good web host.  

One important aspect is to make sure that your hosting package can support multiple domains. For example, even though GoDaddy.com’s $3.99 hosting is cheep, if you have 3 domains, you’ll be paying $12 a month for hosting. However, buy the $6.99 hosting package and you’ll find yourself only paying $6.99 for the same capacity. Unless you are building a huge website with lots of multimedia and traffic, you should have no problems supporting several domains on 6.99 a month. Most of the time, you get a free or cheep domain with your hosting package to start you off. Choose carefully, but don’t worry if you need to buy a second or a third or 10 domains. $10 a year for a domain is cheep if you can earn $100 or $1,000 or $10,000 or more a year from that same domain.

After you buy hosting and a domain, you’ll need to edit your website. I use photoshop and dreamweaver, but you could use a free html editor, or just work with wordpress. Many hosting companies will install wordpress for you for free.
